About Peter

Peter Essex

Tutor for English and French, Exam/Study Coach (all subjects), Homework Tracker and Organizer

Having ADHD, being successful in school didn’t come naturally to me. It was by learning to self-motivate and organize that I achieved the Washington State Honor award, Salutatorian status, the prestigious Presidential Scholarship at my university, and a seal of biliteracy in my second language, French. This speaks to the fact that anyone can learn, regardless of organizational or learning difficulties.

My background allows me to relate to students on a personal level. I’m not just a teacher: I build rapport as a mentor and role model. My goal is to make students eager to learn, and I do so by cultivating an atmosphere they can’t wait to return to.

Beyond The Malini Way, I am a pole vaulter, gym rat, churchgoer, and Francophile. I will attend Pacific Lutheran University in the fall to study psychology and kinesiology.

… on how my son should approach his teachers. Peter keeps a close eye on my son’s grades and provides tools and strategies to help maintain and improve them.

Peter excels at motivating and engaging my son, making learning enjoyable and accessible. He brings fun and energy to each session, which has been instrumental in helping my son understand complex concepts. Peter’s patience and encouragement have played a crucial role in turning my son from a demotivated student into one who is gradually emerging and trying his best.

Moreover, Peter holds my son accountable, fostering a sense of responsibility and discipline. He sets realistic goals and provides constructive feedback, all with a dash of humor that my son can relate to, which has helped my son develop a stronger work ethic and a more positive attitude towards his studies.

Thanks to Peter’s dedicated and thoughtful tutoring, my son has made solid progress. He is now more confident and willing to tackle academic challenges, a change that I directly attribute to Peter’s support.

of assignments/task they either needed to work on or turn in. It not only gave them but also us—the parents—peace at mind, knowing they were on top of school and homework.

I absolutely recommend Peter to help your student manage and track school work.

We did it in connection with “homeschooling” but I would also highly recommend this to anyone who struggles to keep up with (time) managing homework, extra assignments and every day planning.

Thank you, Peter
